Brian is an veteran product designer, inventor, and entrepreneur with 7 patents and over 30 years of experience working in software and hardware. He began his career at Apple where he worked on famous and infamous products including the Newton Message Pad, iMac, and G4 Cube. As a co-founder of Postini, he invented the virus and spam filters behind Gmail. As co-founder of Cola he designed and created the first open text messaging platform. In between startups he launched and ran the design consultancy Idea Momentum for 15 years. He has taught graduate-level classes on design at The Institute of Design at IIT and is a frequent speaker on creativity and innovation.
