The hint text inside form fields was too pale to read
The grey placeholder text that tells you what to type — in 176 fields across the platform — sat at 2.3:1 against a white box, half of what it needs to be readable. It is now dark enough to read.
Form fields you can see the edge of
Every text field, dropdown and search box on Designed drew its border in a grey too pale to see against a white page. They all have a visible edge now — and the little green mentor-availability dot no longer appears on members who were never asked the question.
A better mentor cluster on mobile, showing a fairer mix
The home page hero on a phone was a flat block of eight headshots, and it could show eight men. It is now a proper cluster, and it always shows an even mix of women and men.
The home page was loading 54 images before its own stylesheet
Our landing page told your browser to fetch fifty-four mentor photos before it fetched the stylesheet. It now asks for one, and the page paints sooner — especially on a phone.
A button label nobody could read, on nine pages
Twenty more colour pairings failed our readability checks — including a button label sitting at 1.48:1 against its background on nine different pages. All twenty are fixed.

Mosaic is the AI we're building into Designed. It's starting quietly on the News and Events feeds, and over the coming months it will grow into helping you find the right mentors, resources and jobs — with chat to come.

Server hiccups and bad requests now land on the same designed error page as our 404 — real status code, punny headline, and quick links back into the community instead of a bare apology.
