About Me

I’m a Senior UX Researcher at Microsoft on a mission to redefine how the world writes—without losing the human stories, emotions, and ownership at the heart of every document. I work on Microsoft Word, Copilot, and the broader Office ecosystem—tools used by billions across every language, industry, and corner of the world. Whether someone is shaping a business case, defending an idea, crafting a proposal, or capturing a personal moment, writing is fundamentally storytelling and persuasion. It’s how people make sense of their world, influence others, and express who they are. As AI becomes a creative partner, I’m driven by a central question: How do we harness the power of Copilot and agentic AI while ensuring writing stays truly human—reflecting a person’s story, voice, intent, and identity? I explore how people can use AI to amplify their thinking, not replace it; how Copilot can help them write faster without losing authenticity; and how users can still feel, at the end of the process, “This is mine. This is my story. These are my ideas.” My work focuses on building AI-First research methods that shape the future of writing and document creation. I develop new approaches using agentic workflows, synthetic users, and AI-driven insights to accelerate research and uncover patterns we couldn’t see before. But I center everything in the real motivations, anxieties, and aspirations behind why people write. Because as powerful as Copilot becomes, writing is still deeply human. It is personal. It is cultural. It is persuasive. And for many, it is the primary way they are understood in the world. My goal is to ensure that AI doesn’t turn writing into something generic or machine-made—but instead becomes a partner that helps people think more clearly, express themselves more confidently, and tell their stories more powerfully. I believe AI should expand—not erase—the human voice. And I believe UX Research must lead this transformation: making writing with AI feel agentic, authentic, and deeply owned by the users who depend on Word every day.
