About Me
Hi, I'm Kane! I'm a product design lead at American Express and a lead design instructor at the University of Miami. I'm currently living in the Atlanta metro area, though my work can be found all over the world. I've been designing, leading, teaching, running internship programs, and mentoring junior designers for the last two decades. I bring to the table deep knowledge of user centered design and user-focused research coupled with design leadership and systems-level thinking. I've been lucky enough to lead teams and projects at a number of amazing orgs, brands, governments, and so on, and I want to help others learn from the mistakes I made along the way. Apart from design and DesignOps, my interests include human rights and social justice, environmental responsibility, gaming, the Internet of Things, gadgets, and coming up with ways to make people laugh.
