About Me

Nazim Iqbal uses design to enable business and technology to realise their human potential. He has journeyed across Sapient, Nokia, digital orgs and product start-ups building design organisations, playing different design specialist roles, mentoring teams and designing solutions that continues to delight users across India, North America, Middle-East, South East Asia and Europe. He recently founded HUDE (hudestudio.com) on a single premise - to help organisations use design to better understand and serve human needs across the digital ecosystem. He is a advisors to startups and mentors to students across design universities and schools. He is passionate about giving back and is incubating thinkfuldesign.com - a design learning startup making design learning democratic. Nazim was born in Calcutta (now Kolkata) and went to a Catholic Chinese school. He grew up in a neighbourhood which was a melting pot of different religions and cultures - from catholics, buddhist, Bohri, Tibetans, Britishers, Chinese, Bengali, Anglo-indians, Nepalis, Marwaris and of various other sub-cultures. This early cultural mingling imbibed in him an innate understanding of cultural diversity, tolerance, inclusivity and human emotions and which continues to inform his design thinking and solutions. The multi-cultural influence has shaped his design philosophy - ‘Understanding people is the soul of design. He is an alumnus of Jadavpur and Calcutta university where he pursued Mass Communication as a post graduate student. The nuances of communication he gathered during his early now enables him to bring a humanist and conversational approach to digital communication and to evolve a design culture in teams and communities he leads or work with. Outside of work he is passionate about Ethics, Simplicity, Emotions, Health, Education & Culture - and leads a social community in Gurgaon.
