Fixed the sign-in flash on page load

If you were logged in, the menu would briefly flash "Login" before correcting itself. That's fixed for good.

A timing issue in how we checked your session caused a visible flicker on nearly every page load. We found and fixed the actual root cause rather than papering over the symptom.
