Initials for everyone without a photo, and a new typeface
Members without a profile photo now show their initials instead of a grey silhouette, everywhere, and the site is set in Sunghyun Sans.
A member without a photo used to appear as the same grey silhouette as everyone else without a photo. Now they appear as their initials on a soft color, on mentor profiles, member profiles, the directory and the homepage grids. The initials also sit underneath every photo, so a photo that is blank or fails to load still shows who it is.
The site has a new typeface, Sunghyun Sans, with Mona Sans behind it while the change settles. It is served from designed.org itself, and an English page fetches a single small file for it, with no extra request holding up the page.
