Mentor profiles load faster

Mentor profiles are the pages people most often arrive on from a search, and they were among the slowest on the site. Each one waited for an old stylesheet the page barely used, and carried the whole request-a-mentor form — four searchable menus — for the few visitors who would open it.

The profile has been rebuilt on Prism, our current design system, with the same layout: the photo and name at the top, the profile's sections, and a contact panel that stays beside you as you scroll on a wide screen and sits below the header on a phone. The request form now loads when you press the button to open it, not before. Mentor cards also fetch a photo sized for the card, rather than a larger one shrunk to fit.
