Testing live, AI-powered translation on this page

An opt-in experiment lets you see this changelog machine-translated in real time via Cloudflare Workers AI. It's not a finished feature, but a trial to gauge quality before deciding whether to build it out further.

Selecting a language from the nav's language switcher on this page (and on individual update pages) now shows an experimental, live machine translation of the title, summary, and body, generated on the fly by Cloudflare Workers AI, not written ahead of time by a translator. It's clearly marked wherever it's active, and falls back silently to the original English for any piece that fails to translate, so nothing ever breaks or shows an error.

This is deliberately scoped as a trial, not a launch. Platform Updates is real, frequently-changing content with no existing translation workflow, which makes it a good test bed for whether machine translation is good enough to build out further, for this page specifically, and potentially for other kinds of frequently-changing content on the platform down the line.

Nothing about this affects the page for anyone not testing it: the translation is fetched client-side, on demand, only when a language is actually selected, so the page you're reading right now was served and cached exactly as it always has been.
