Example
Redesign a Volunteer Sign-Up Flow (Example)
A draft example project showing what a real Designed Project brief looks like — not a real partner engagement.
Led by Placeholder Lead Name (Volunteer mentor (example)) · Partner: Example Community Partner (draft placeholder — not a real organization)
Scope
Redesign the sign-up flow for a community organization's volunteer program, from initial interest through confirmed shift assignment. Scope is limited to the sign-up flow itself, not the org's full site.
Community need
Volunteers currently drop off partway through a confusing multi-step sign-up form; the organization wants a clearer path from "I'm interested" to "I'm signed up for a shift."
Deliverables
A redesigned flow (wireframes or high-fidelity, contributor's choice) covering every step from landing to confirmation, plus a short written rationale for the key decisions.
Definition of done
The org's (fictional, for this example) volunteer coordinator can walk through the new flow end to end and confirm it addresses the three biggest drop-off points identified in the brief.
Dependencies
None beyond the brief itself for this example.
Accessibility
Deliverables should meet WCAG 2.1 AA color-contrast and keyboard-navigation basics.
IP & license
Deliverables are shared with the partner under a standard non-exclusive license for their own use; contributors keep the right to show the work in their own portfolio.
Confidentiality
No confidential data is used in this example project — a real project would name what, if anything, contributors may not share publicly.
Attribution
Contributors are credited by name in any public use of the work unless they opt out.
Data handling
No real user data is involved in this example — a real project would state exactly what data (if any) contributors can access and how it must be handled.
